She scored blue velvet

Posted on 04:51 by kumar
Do I need another velvet piece of furniture?

You know the answer to that one.

I found this bootiful chair in Leslieville and though it was more than I'd usually pay (ie: not free) I scooped it up.

The velvet is soo rich and in good condition, and the bones are really good - which means that after my cat Dag tears it to shreds I can reupholster it in some hearty fabric.

I'll write more on the shops in Toronto that surround the place where I picked this up - I'm writing the column today and will link to it here once it's published so you'll know where to go for antique/second hand furniture if you live in the big smoke!
